  All Day Afternoon with Tim Ennis   The Democratic Parties of Adams, Cass, Pottawattamie, and Union Counties will be hosting an afternoon with Tim Ennis, candidate for the Iowa House, District 21, on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM. The event will be held at the Corning Winery’s Floating Vine, located just south of Corning. Tickets are $25 per person and can be ordered from Sherry Toelle, Chair of the Cass County Democratic Party, or purchased at the door the day of the event. There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar.

  All Day Montgomery County YMCA Basketball Camp   The Montgomery County Family YMCA in Red Oak, Iowa is hosting a one day youth basketball camp for area student entering grades 3rd – 11th female and male may attend this camp. The camp will be under the direction of players and staff members of the 2014-15 Nebraska Women’s Basketball Team. The camp will be held at the Montgomery County Family YMCA in Red Oak, Iowa on Saturday, July 26th, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Please see attachment for more contact information with the camp deadline set for July 12th, 2014. All registrations forms are due back to the Montgomery County Family YMCA, 101 East Cherry Street, Red Oak, Iowa 51566.
 
  All Day Griswold Reunion Fun Run and Walk   The 9th annual Griswold Reunion Fun Run and Walk in conjunction with the Griswold Soldiers Reunion Celebration. Participants will gather at the Griswold City Park located 3 blocks north of Mint Street on Montgomery Street. Check in, packet pick up and race day registration will be form 7:00-7:50 at the city park shelter. Races begin at 8:00a.m. Events include 10K, 5K, 2 Mile Run, 2 Mile Walk, and a special kids run around the city park (ages 6 and under). Prizes to the first male and female in each race and medals will go to the first 3 finishers in each age group. $10 entry fee before July 10th or $12 after that.   7:00PM 10:00PM Popcorn Button Hosting Free Community Dance   Popcorn Button, a local community band, will be hosting a free community dance this Saturday, July 12, at the Atlantic Elks Lodge, beginning at 7 pm and ending at 10. This dance, titled “Let Freedom Swing”, is a free public event. Everyone, no matter their dancing ability, is encouraged to attend. A free will donation will be accepted at the door to help defray costs of the event. All excess money will be given back to the community in the form of donations or through the Popcorn Button Community Music Scholarship, an award given to help young musicians pay the costs involved with attending band camps, honor hands, or taking private lessons.
