  All Day Prairie Fire Children's Theatre   Auditions for Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's original musical production of "Pinocchio" will be held at Atlantic High School on July 7th at 1PM . Up to 75 local young people are needed to play the roles of PINOCCHIO, the BLUE FAIRY, CRICKET, CAT, the SPIRITS OF THE FOREST and more. Two professional actor/directors from Prairie Fire will direct the production. Auditions are open to anyone age 7 and up. The audition process lasts up to two hours and all auditioners are required to be in attendance the entire time. No preparation is necessary. A portion of the cast will be required to stay following the auditions for a rehearsal session. Rehearsals will be held from 1PM to 5:15PM throughout the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for 7PM July 11th and 2PM July 12th at the Atlantic High School.   All Day Marne July 4th Hogroast and Fireworks   The annual Marne Community Club July 4th Celebration will take place on Friday, July 4th at the Marne Park. The flag will be raised at 6:00 p.m., with the meal to follow. Fireworks begin at dusk. The Marne July 4th Celebration features delicious roast pork. The Marne Community Club provides Secret Recipe Marne beans, buns, ice tea and lemonade. Please bring a pot luck side dish, salad or dessert to share, as well as table service for your family. All who attend are asked to give a free will donation to help pay for the fireworks. The Marne Fire Department will be hosting water fights with area volunteer fire departments earlier in the day. Kids’ water fights will be held that evening during the hog roast.
  All Day Atlantic Jaycees Flight Breakfast and Fireworks   The Atlantic Jaycees Flight Breakfast and Fireworks Show will be held Friday July 4th at the Atlantic Municipal Airport. A $6 breakfast featuring the Pancake Man will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Breakfast is free to all fly-ins. There will be bounce houses for the kids, DJ music and Kiwanis Club of Atlantic concession stand starting at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk with patriotic music being played. All activities will take place at the Atlantic Airport. Rain date for the fireworks is July 5th.

Adams Community Chamber will be serving: pancakes, sausages, eggs, juice and coffee*

  12:30PM 3:30PM Grand River Rodeo Co. Independence Day Rodeo   IRA & IRCA sanctioned rodeo in Exira. Mutton Bustin' starts at 12:30 with the rodeo beginning at 1:30! $10 Adults, $5 5-12, and 4 & younger get in free. Concessions and beer garden on grouds. This is a rain or shine event!

  4:30PM n/a Massena Medicine Show   COOL down after the 4th of July parade in Massena and come to "The Medicine Show of the Great Doctor Balthazar T. Archimedes at 4:30 P.M. at the Catholic Church . The program is sponsored by the Massena Historical Society and will bring a piece of history to the day as it traces the impact of American Medicine Shows from Colonial Times to the present . The Dr. is portrayed by Richard Poole and you will want to hear about the GOLDEN MAGIC ELIXIR, which cures all ills. This is a show that is Fun for all ages, FREE, and open to the public. Iced tea and cookies will be served. The restored buildings of Heritage Park at 2nd and Main will be open during the afternoon.
