  All Day Atlantic Citywide Garage Sale   The Atlantic Business and Professional Women Spring Citywide Garage Sale will take place May 2nd from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and May 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The last day to register is April 20th. Contact Ina Ohnmeiss at or call 925-963-5408 or Becky Bonney at 712-254-0838. Map locations will be available on May 2nd and 3rd at HyVee, Casey’s at 701 Poplar, Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, Cass County Memorial Hospital, and Great Western Bank. All signs will be picked up by a BPW representative on Saturday after the event.
  All Day Church of the Nazarene Revival Services   The Church of the Nazarene at 500 Hazel in Atlantic will be conducting Revival Services on May 2nd and 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and May 4th at 10:40 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

  8:00AM 3:00PM Elliott City-Wide Garage Sales   The town of Elliott is holding citywide garage sales on Saturday, May 3, from 8am until 3pm. Stop by the cafe on Main Street or the Community Building to pick up a map that has all sale locations marked on it for easy shopping. Also, the Friends of the Library will be having a Craft Fair a the Community Building that same day. For more information, call the Elliott Library at 712-767-2355.
  8:00AM 3:00PM Our Savior Plants, Rummage and Bake Sale   Our Savior Lutheran Church is having a plants and rummage and bake sale this Saturday, May 3 at the church in Walnut from 8 to 3 pm raising $ for our church sign, Thrivent Matching Funds are approved for this event, plants will include flowers, annuals and some perenials, hanging plants, mulch, yard ornaments and stepping stones

  1:00PM 4:00PM Hitchcock Pioneer Skills Festival   Have you ever wondered how the pioneers made their own rope or dipped their own candles? Maybe you have even thought about trying your hand at spinning wool. If so, you should come to the Hitchcock Pioneer Skills Festival. The Hitchcock House is located 6 miles south of Atlantic and 1.5 miles west of Lewis, IA. This festival will be held rain or shine. There is a $5 fee/adult for a tour of the Hitchcock House. All activities in the barn are free of charge; donations to the Hitchcock House will be accepted.
  5:00PM 7:30PM Congressional Candidate Forum or Iowa's District 3   Six candidates seeking the Republican nomination for the 3rd Congressional District in Iowa will gather in Red Oak at the High School Auditorium (just south of US Hwy 34 on 4th Street) to answer questions, in a forum setting, that are pertinent to voters in SW Iowa. The event on Saturday, May 3, will begin at 5:00 pm with a reception in the cafeteria to meet the candidates, followed by the Forum at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. The six candidates seeking the Republican nomination on June 3 are: Matt Schultz, Brad Zaun, Robert Cramer, Monte Shaw, David Young and Joe Grandanette. The Forum has no admission, however, non-perishable food items will be accepted for food pantries; free will donations will gladly be accepted at the reception.
