  9:00AM 12:00PM Reading and Book Signing at Exira Library   A reading and book signing with Kathryn Daugherty, author of “A Case of Hearts”, will be Saturday, October 26th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Exira Public Library. The reading will take place at 10:30 a.m. followed by questions, book signing and refreshments. Kathy is the daughter of the late Wally & Norma Erickson of Exira and sister of Judy Bintner of Exira and Debbie Roberts.

This service is free and no questions are asked.
  5:00PM 8:00PM Walnut Halloween Haunt   The Walnut Merchants Association is planning a costume swap to be held in conjunction with their Walnut Halloween Haunt, which will take place on Saturday, October 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All costumes will be available the night of the Haunt and are provided for free. Face painters will also be available to help complete even the most terrifying looks. When you’re all dressed up, enjoy the activities that will be taking place in Walnut’s downtown, including after-hours shopping, trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, and free chili and hot chocolate to keep warm.
  7:00PM n/a The “Magical Forest” Halloween Hike   Enjoy the 22nd biannual Halloween Hike, on Saturday, October 26th, as you follow a trail where your “Magical Forest” journey will start! Starting at 7:00 p.m. small groups will depart from the Camblin Addition of Sunnyside Park in Atlantic every ten minutes. Kids twelve and under are encouraged to arrive early to get their faces painted! The last group will depart at 8:10 p.m. and all hikers are welcome to enjoy free tasty treats and warm drinks after their hike. Pre-registration is required for this FREE event, please call 712-769-2372 or email to make your reservations. This hike is sponsored by the Cass County Conservation Board.
