  8:30AM 1:00PM Bake Sale and Lunch   St. John's United Church of Christ invites you to a bake sale and lunch on Saturday October 5, 2013 at the Griswold American Legion, Main street, Griswold. Bake sale starts at 8:30 a.m. and Lunch will be from 11:00-1:00 serving Sloppy Joes, Cheesy potatoes, baked beans, a dessert bar and drink for $6.00. There will also be a raffle for centerpieces.Proceeds go towards church kitchen remodeling project. Everyone welcome.
  8:00PM 11:00PM Benefit for Jay   Benefit band for Jay Walton, son of Main Street Bar & Grill owner Jan Walton, will be held Saturday, October 5 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Main Street Bar in Massena with a free will donation. Jay suffered a hemorrhagic stroke a few weeks ago and has paralysis on his left side and short term memory loss. Jay is a carpenter and his life adjustments will be many. Featured band is the Solohogs who originate from northeast Kansas. One of the band members has become a recent resident of Massena and works on the wind turbines. Solohogs are known for enjoying themselves on stage and not afraid of improvising with their music styles of blues based rock, some 70’s acoustic, and strong vocal harmonies.
